Standard figures. La partage returns half of an even money bet when the ball lands on zero, which halves the edge on those specific bets.

All bets on a wheel cost the same

Straight up on a single number, red or black, columns, dozens, corners. On a single zero wheel every one of them carries the same 2.7% edge, because the payouts are calculated from the same distorted odds.

What changes is variance. A straight up bet has enormous variance and a red or black bet has very little. Neither is better value. They are different distributions around an identical expectation, which is the same principle that governs risk settings on Originals.

Betting systems

Martingale, Fibonacci, D'Alembert, Labouchere. All of them redistribute variance and none of them touch expected value.

Martingale is the instructive case. Doubling after each loss produces many small wins and occasional catastrophic ones, and it fails against table maximums and finite bankrolls, both of which exist specifically because this is well understood. It feels like it works right up to the session where it does not.

Where it sits against Originals

Even the best roulette variant costs more than 99% Originals, and standard European costs nearly three times as much. If you enjoy roulette that is a fine reason to play it. Just be clear you are paying for the preference rather than getting equivalent value.
