Definitions that matter

The four KYC tiers

The industry uses one word for four different things. Here is the distinction, and why it decides whether your withdrawal clears.

Almost every affiliate site sorts casinos into KYC and no-KYC. That binary is useless, because the interesting cases all sit between them.

No-KYC

Generally permits play and withdrawal without routine identity verification, subject to published terms and applicable law.

Note what that definition does not say. It does not say verification never happens. No licensed operator can promise that, because anti money laundering obligations attach to the licence itself. What it describes is a default, and a default is a business practice rather than a contractual guarantee.

KYC-resistant

Operates with limited verification but retains broad contractual rights to request documentation at its discretion.

The practical difference from no-KYC is intent. A KYC-resistant operator has built its product to avoid verification wherever it can, often by removing the systems that would require it. Duel offers no fiat on-ramp at all, which eliminates the payment processor that would otherwise verify every card user. That is a structural choice, not a policy setting.

Triggered KYC

Verification requested under defined circumstances: withdrawal thresholds, compliance review, risk flags.

This is where most of the market sits, including most operators that market themselves as no-KYC. The front door is open. There is a checkpoint further in, and it is positioned at the exit.

Full KYC

Routine identity verification as part of the standard flow.

One operator in our tracked set works this way. If the privacy properties of crypto gambling are why you are here, it is not the one for you, and we would rather say that than bury it.

Positions are read from each operator's published terms and were last checked on 2026-08-18. Operators change these quietly and without notice. Check the current terms before you deposit anything you would mind waiting for.

How we decide

We read the published terms rather than the landing page. Specifically the verification clause, the account closure clause, and any withdrawal limit that applies to unverified accounts. Where an operator publishes a verification ladder, we use its own description of it.

Then we check whether a fiat on-ramp exists, because that single fact creates a fully verified route no matter what the casino's own policy says.

Where the terms and the marketing disagree, we go with the terms. The terms are the part you are actually agreeing to.

Gambling carries a negative expected return. Over enough bets the house edge wins by design, and no ranking on this site changes that. If it has stopped being a choice, free confidential help exists: Peluuri in Finland, Stödlinjen in Sweden, BZgA in Germany, and GamCare internationally.
